Promoting Health & Happiness: While redesigning our corporate headquarters at the Aon Center in Chicago, JLL used advanced technology to create a more human workspace where our people can shape rather than be confined by the space. That led to surveys on employee satisfaction, needs and ideas for a workplace that creates overall wellbeing. The results? People want places to interact and a more engaging environment. (And free bagels are nice, too.) Those surveys led directly to design decisions meant to foster mindfulness and physical wellness, and dramatically reduce noise and distraction. Collaboration between coworkers like Bobby, Helena, Stephany and Caitlin happen organically in a café rather than crowded around a colleague seeking privacy for a call. Interactions between business units are now encouraged and designed into the space in strategically integrated conference, huddle and telephone rooms.
