Achieving the highest LEED® Platinum recognition for landmark building

September 22, 2017 Sanjana Saluja

Bank of the West wanted to go really green. Upon partnering with the bank to understand its ambitions, we pursued the prestigious LEED Platinum certification and ENERGY STAR ® label for its 445,000-square-foot landmark building in Sacramento. We did this by installing high-performance glass to maximize daylight; putting in low-flow water fixtures, which reduced water usage by 33 percent; and implementing green cleaning policies and practices throughout the building. At the end of the day, the Bank of the West Tower received recognition in all LEED® categories, including Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality and Innovation in Design.
