Aligning space and culture for new Jama headquarters

March 22, 2016 Laura McDaniel

When Jama Software outgrew their Portland, Oregon space, they brought JLL on board to help them locate, design and build out the company’s new headquarters. Jama’s goal was to meet their immediate need for more space and align with the company’s brand and unique tech startup culture. While Jama’s new office was being built, JLL found a short-term space near their existing headquarters to allow the company to maintain operations. The new Portland headquarters placed Jama as the anchor tenant in a new creative redevelopment space, with ample conference rooms, energy-efficient lighting and large windows to allow for as much natural light as possible. Jama’s new headquarters also provided a community kitchen, an expansive rooftop patio, as well as flexible furniture to allow for future reconfigurations – and future growth.
