When advertising agency Foote, Cone & Belding (FCB) relocated its Chicago headquarters to the iconic John Hancock Center occupying 167,000 square feet and five floors, JLL was tapped as project manager for the customized workspace. By engaging a representative cross section of the client early on in the process, JLL got the team heavily invested in the mission, as well as the overall layout, technology and finishes. Technology was incorporated into every aspect of the design, driving the ‘coolness’ factor. The nearly 100% open plan includes collaborative ‘white spaces’ that feature café like settings, a three story atrium, state of the art sound studio and high end video private screening theater for client presentations. In 2014, Crain’s Chicago Business named the space the Coolest Office of the Year.
