Hitting just the right chord

Upon selecting Detroit as the location for its next college, the Detroit Institute of Music Education (DIME), its owners tasked JLL with renovating the city’s historic Bamlet Building to suit the modern and unique needs of the school. Enlisted to provide both Tenant Representation and Project Management services, JLL not only ensured the construction fit-out of the building kept its historical feel, but that it also appealed to the modern nature of the entrepreneurially focused college. By using a Synergy partner architect, as well as a local designer and general contractor, JLL was able to achieve $282,000 in value engineering savings for the client. The project has been such a success that additional facilities are being considered across the United States.
