Breathing new life into America’s first YMCA

America’s first YMCA – YMCA of Greater Boston – needed a makeover. We understood the importance of history in the context of this renovation, and we ensured the YMCA remained open throughout the entire project while preserving the 1912 construction, which is listed on the National and State Register of Historic Places. Not only did we oversee a new 23,000 square-foot addition containing a gymnasium, aquatics center and squash courts, but we also overhauled the rest of the YMCA.
