Establishing diversity for athletics and academics

In order to optimize operational workflow, JLL was engaged with UNG to create a highly-efficient and flexible facility to support a diversity of athletic, academic, and co-curricular activities at its flagship campus in Dahlonega.

JLL’s unwavering efforts helped UNG with the desired Convocation Center providing a critical space expansion to meet both academic and athletic needs of their growing student body. It is accompanied by a new 526-space precast parking deck featuring a strong pedestrian connection linking the two buildings.

The facility serves as a key new amenity to the community, providing the City of Dahlonega a venue for large assembly events. The arena bowl is designed to NCAA Division 1 standard with 3,600 seats for athletic uses, including 1,900 fixed and 1,350 retractable seats, and telescopic bleachers for 350 spectators, with the ability to retract for a two-court set-up.

The facility is also available to the community for tradeshows, festivals, and concerts, as well as to local high schools for athletic and academic uses. Academic facilities include classrooms, new clinic laboratory spaces, and faculty offices.
