JLL would like to congratulate North York General Hospital (NYGH) for being Ontario’s first hospital building to be awarded the environmental BOMA BEST silver level certification!

The hospital’s General site was awarded a Silver level BOMA BEST certification for improving the property’s energy efficiency and waste diversion programs. It is the first hospital in Ontario to achieve this certification, demonstrating its commitment to decreasing its impact on the environment. A site verification took place in January, using the data and information provided to BOMA Toronto, confirming that the hospital qualified for certification.

Working with North York General staff, JLL’s Project and Development Services group oversaw the energy and water audit required for the certification.

“There was a great deal of information and data required for the audit. JLL helped us keep on track and organize all the information required. We were pleasantly surprised with how well we did and now have several new initiatives planned to improve our status to Gold level,” said Cliff Harvey, VP Planning, Facilities and Support Services, North York General Hospital.

JLL has a strong track record in helping owners and occupiers achieve targeted Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and other green building certifications including BOMA BEST.
